Hi everyone, Dr Cris here with The Ask Dr Cris Show. Today I have a question from Isaac pertaining to how much protein should I be eating each day. There’s lot of controversy around protein, but ideally you should be aiming for 1 to 1 ½ grams per kilogram of body weight per day. So, if you weighed 70 kilograms, or 145 pounds – that is about 70 to 100 grams of protein a day. Now this can come in the form of lane red meat, fish, chicken, tofu, eggs or nuts, and ideally you should be having protein with each meal just to be able to keep you fuller for longer. A serving of protein is about a palm size, so a palm size portion of chicken, fish, or meat each day, and hopefully that will be able to keep you sustained in terms of energy, protein and muscle mass. Thanks very much for listening and I look forward to hearing more of your questions. Just write them down below and I will get to them next week. Thank you very much
