Dr Cris here with The Ask Dr Cris Show. Today’s question comes from Ark he would like to know how do I cure my head aches. A good question, a lot of individuals suffer from headaches and there are a thousand and one causes to be honest, but there are some common ones.
The first one is dehydration, look at how much water you are you having per day and try to increase the amount, so, one litre for every 25 kilos that you weigh. Remember that if you doing heavy exercise or you work outdoors in the sun you may need even more than that to prevent you headaches from getting worse as a factor of dehydration. The second thing is watch for food triggers, there a couple of food triggers that can set off migraines or headaches – cheese, wine and spices being the most common ones. So look for any food association with your headaches in particular. The third one is sleep deprivation, do look at sleep, sleep deprivation can cause tension headaches which is tension that starts in the neck and radiates up to the head. Do look at how much sleep you are getting and the quality of sleep, if needed invest in a good pillow, try and sort out the snoring issue which I have talked about it in a different segment. Those are three common things that can trigger a headache.
